Archery Posted March 1, 2002 Posted March 1, 2002 I put this in another post..but I figured I would get better response if I put it in its own post. I had been wondering ...So if I adjust the torsion bars, I will be able to get rid of some of that tilt the Siverado's have that cause it to ride a little lower in the front...? Is there anything else I need to do? anything to watch out for?
bassdog Posted March 1, 2002 Posted March 1, 2002 Welcome to the forum, That "tilt" you refer to is just how the factory sets the front suspension. Adjusting the torsion bars will level it out and get rid of that tilt. There are a few threads about this throughout the board, you'll find a ton of answers there.
chevy4x4trucks Posted March 1, 2002 Posted March 1, 2002 Yeah, give it a few turns to even out the ride, I think it was an 18mm bolt. Jacking up the front end will make it easier. Measure the height from ground to frame in a few places before you start, crank them about two turns, ride for a bit to jounce the suspension, measure again, and repeat until you get the desired height, don't go too high though or you'll get a really stiff ride and risk premature wearing of front end components, I'd say an inch to inch and a half. You may want to get a front end alignment afterwards.
