Hub centric ring or not?

Hello I just went to a local tire shop today to get a set mayhem warrior wheels installed on my 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 but they said they could not put them on because I needed hub rings so I contacted the shop I originaly purchased them from and told me I should not need them I am a bit confused I want to make shure they are installed correctly bellow are pictures of the wheel installed and beside the oem wheel. They're not needed for the rim to fit but I would recommend using them, especially since they're not expensive. They are however needed for the rim to fit like it's supposed to. They help take some of the stress off of the lug studs. Without them all of the weight and stress is on the lug nut studs. Of course if you use factory rims (as in getting a different set, but are still factory rims) then you don't need them since they're made for the hub size. The hub helps support some of the weight so without hub centric rings with aftermarket rims then the hub isn't supporting any of the weight, just the studs are. But, aftermarket rims being that they are made to go on a lot of different makes and models it's a lot easier for them to just make sure the center hole is big enough for any hub size.
