Well after lots of trial and tribulation she is finally where I want her. I did a very quick, rough measurement last night after finishing and the front and rear wheel wells measured 39 5/8" in the middle over the hub. I'll try to get more accurate measurements on a level surface today. Now what I have in the setup is the Motofab 1.5" level spacer that goes on the bottom of the strut and the 5100s set on the top setting. Many people would frown upon this setup and I'm not sure I particular agree with it yet but I figure I can do this until ball joints fail and then I'll upgrade to the Rough Country or other control arms that ease the ball joint angle. I'll try to get pictures up of the BJ angles as the truck sits. If anyone has any questions, I'd be more than happy to help. Also the truck drives rather well I think considering its a semi-lifted truck. 5100s really help in comparison to my old truck that was leveled with just a spacer and now 5100s.

As expected, things are starting to make a popping sound. It comes a slow speeds when turning. I think it's the steering knuckle. Gonna get new tires and alignment and see if that helps. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I am pretty sure you know what needs to happen. You have two good leveling products on the front of your truck. Choose one but not both and your truck will run like new! It appears to me that more than your steering knuckle is at an unnatural angle with your current setup. You need a decent lift kit rather than stacking leveling kits if you need this amount of height.

Well I found the cause. At some point the CV boot got cut/ripped and has lost some grease. Couple of questions. Anyone know if the NNBS cv axles work on the K2 trucks? I wish I could just pack it with grease but can't without removing axle or boot. Anybody in San Antonio recommend any shops? Autozone doesn't carry the axle yet.

Got the CV boot replaced. Still popping, thinking I'll just drive it until the joints get terrible and then replace UCAs and put in Moog lower BJs

Why not try removing the spacers and see how the truck looks and drives? I am not an expert in this field but have done a great deal of research. Achieving this amount of lift by stacking leveling kits is hard on more than your UCA's. If your truck looks too low with only the Bilsteins, then get a proper lift kit c/w differential drop. The stress you are putting on your suspension/drive components will cause failure and end up costing you more than a proper suspension lift. In the meantime, you're getting a poor quality ride from an otherwise great riding truck!

I've been looking in to it. I'm just worried that any lift kit won't level the truck due to the weight of the grille guard. Because I haven't seen any other posts where trucks start with 4" of rake. I thought about taking the spacer out and removing the rear block and just letting it ride that way, but I'm not sure how that'd work out. Any recommended lift kits that you think would level it with the weight? Plus I'd like to keep the 5100s on there.

You do realize if you lose a BJ you lose the tire also? And this can happen while your driving

Yes I know. They also have to be way worse than they are now. Figured out popping isn't coming from BJs. Some where in the steering.

youre definitely not helping things
