2014 Sierra 2wd shackle removal help

Guys, what am I missing here? It looks like I can get the nuts off the bolts but how would I get the bolts out to remove the shackles? I am planning on installing lowering shackles but got stuck before I even started.

Looks like the bolt on the right (bottom bolt) is able to come out and the shackle comes out with the leaf spring as one unit.

Did not notice it was the OP calling him self that, nice. I see the added step needed, shouldn't be too bad a few more large bolts.

 

Must say I am impressed by the forum, not one person questioning your 2wd and telling you why a 4wd is best and justified.

 

Post some pics when done OP, I do enjoy the look of a nice lowered truck gone sporty...

Well since you want to bring up another thread then I'll play. If you looked at what she said, she wants a 4x4 but it's not in their budget when trying to get something brand new. She seems to be the one saying a lot of different stuff just to make her feel better about a 2wd. I could care less what someone wants or spends money on, but if she wants 4x4 bad enough then if she has to then she can get a used truck with everything she wants so she doesn't need to get brand new. I'm in the same general area in the US, in northern NC and she's in VA somewhere. Well I've used 4x4 at least once per winter with this '14 and probably at least 8 of the 10 winters if not all 10 when owning the '98. I don't like to feel stuck somewhere and don't want to depend on someone else for a ride or anything like that. The maintenance isn't much, the gas mileage isn't much difference and when dividing the cost to add 4x4 into the loan it's really just a few bucks a month more. I understand some areas don't get enough snow to need 4x4 so not everybody needs 4x4, but if you're somewhere that needs 4x4 just once every year or 2 then it's worth it. I'm not talking about mudding or other off-roading by the way, just winter weather.
