Help! P300 Generic Misfire Coil packs tested okay. Problem at #8.

Hi everyone. I am new to the forum and need some help. I have an 02 Silverado 5.3L that runs rough and shakes a bit when idling at a stop light. The SES light flashes at startup then stays lit without flashing. My obd tester throws an error code of P300 generic misfire. I tested out all the coils and only the #8 coil produced no spark. So I swapped it out with the #1 coil which did produce spark and it still won't produce spark at the #8 position though the coil at #1 continued to produce spark even with the one I took from the #8 position. So I determined that all coil packs are good yet I can get no spark from any good coil that is mounted at the #8 position. Can anyone shed light on what would cause no spark to a coil mounted at cylinder 8? Any help is greatly appreciated. Kevin

Check the wiring on that #8 coil. Suspect a broken wire in the harness or a rubbed/pinched section of the harness.

Thanks for the reply. I will check over the harness and wiring today. That is the only thing I can think of also.
