No muffler?

Could my truck still run perfectly fine without the muffler? The reason I ask is because the muffler is falling apart and is creating a rattling sound when wet, cold, and whenever I hit a bump in the road. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It is just common sense to route the exhaust at least past the passenger compartment and as to not introduce exhaust gasses into the cabin.

 

I would suggest that you hire your exhaust modification out to a competent shop if you are unfamiliar with such work.
