LED lights

Just purchased '16' Sierra 1500. I want to convert lights to LED. See some talk on different sites about load resisters on signal lights. Do I have to use them when I convert. Thanks.

Referring to brake/signal light. Trim is single cab, 8' box with basic convenience package.
