Some of you asked me about my Green "Z's" on my Z71 decals. I did them myself, I like do this kind of cheap personalization. I can do a photo/video tutorial if needed.

The decal I made goes on top of the original one, so a the end it cover the "Z" only. Is not a full Z71 decal.

I said cheap personalization, because I do sticker for myself and friends. I use different contact paper, and also if you buy a roll a the store is around $7 and is 18 in x 24ft... You can also find contact paper in some craft store, more expensive but you can find different color. The one I used is $2.99 and is 12in x 24in.

Any way here how I did...

For make the "Z's" you don't need to have any kind of experience, but you need a pair of scissor, contact paper of your choice and clear tape, a Sharpie marker or a pen and a piece of paper or thin cardboard.

For the clear tape I used the 3M Scotch Mattle Finish Magic Tape. You can use any of your preference, the important is that is clear.

-Lay it on top of the "Z" so a the end is fully cover. You need to put the tape like the shingle on the roof, one that goes a little bit on top of the other, not side by side.

-Now with the Sharpie follow the perimeter of the "Z".

-Gently remove the tape make sure it does not broke.

-Attach it to the piece of paper.

-With the scissor cut the "Z"

You pretty much have a template... :)

-Put the template reverse - like a mirror on the contact paper.

-Track it with a sharpie

-Cut it

-Attach it to the Z71 decal.

Here mine Before attach them I wash the truck... :) I attach them around 7 months ago.

I also did the same way the "Z" on the grille.

With also contact paper I did the front emblem in black. For it I had to use a cigarette lighter so the contact paper fit around the corner better and after cut the excess with a razor blade.

I did also the black emblem on the tailgate, but after I removed the emblem and debaged.
