Catch can has caught nothing

First time poster. I put an Elite E2X on my 2015 Silverado 5.3 at 7,015 miles a couple months back. I now have 10,100 miles, and the can has not collected a single drop. A few days ago I actually had to uninstall the clean side separator as oil was leaking out from around the separator cap in the fill reservoir. I have double checked that everything is connected as the directions detailed, and that the inlet is even/slightly below the PCV outlet so that gravity can help out. Has anyone else had this problem? I have seen on this forum, and many others where in as little as a few hundred miles these things start collecting a couple teaspoons worth of gunk. I find it hard to believe that I ended up with a perfectly efficient DI engine......Thanks for any guidance in advance.

You should definitely be catching oil. Something is not set up properly. Are you sure your check valve is installed in the correct direction and isn't preventing the system from working properly? Post some pictures of your set up so we can diagnose it but you should definitely be getting oil unless you were sold a knock off E2X with no filtration media on the inside which I doubt is the case.

Something is wrong with your setup! Check it and fix it PLEASE!

I changed oil @ 1000 put in cheapest 100% synthetic money can buy and 9,000 miles later still driving on that crap oil is how this cowboy breaks it in! I am the king of idle you think I am turning my truck off for 1 second in AZ summer your nuts! If I have to roll a couple spliffs, check my other phone for adulteress hookups I might me idling for 1.5 hours at a time.....who cares? I checked my Catch can after 1000 miles like Elite says to and 2 ounces of pure black oil poured out...at least 90%+ oil not water!

I would have to agree. If the catch can has caught nothing in 3000 miles, there is something wrong. I have not seen a vehicle, GM or any other, that had a good catch can installed properly that didn't catch some oil from the PCV line. Will be more on some vehicles, less on others, for sure, but to catch nothing betrays a poor can or setup.

The catch can on my 2015 2500 catches about 4 oz in 5000 miles. The one on my 2006 Cadillac CTS 3.6L catches about 6 oz in 1000 miles. It has a very poorly designed PCV system that really shoves the oil thru the line. It really needs some effective baffling on the PCV port, but I haven't found a good way to address that yet.

I have to apologize for the incredibly tardy reply to this topic. There was an issue with the setup that was remedied by the great folks over at Elite Engineering, and now my E2X is catching TONS of stuff. Had a couple things come up with our 16 month old that took my full attention over the last few months. Thanks for all the help!!

What was the problem why the can wasn't catching anything? Was it a line or check valve issue?

It was a line issue, and was completely avoidable if I had CAREFULLY read the install directions. Oh well, it's working great now. It's pretty wild the amount of stuff it catches.
