2000 Sierra 5.3 Won't start when hot

The truck starts fine when it's cold, just a slight bit of hesitation then fires right up. When it's been driven for a while it just cranks. Starter is fine, battery is fine. It just started doing this out of the blue. Fuel is coming out of the schrader valve - I know I should probably do a fuel pressure test. The truck has been running fine. I checked the vacuum line to the FPR, it's bone dry. I searched the forums, but none of the "won't start" threads applied. I'm surprised this hasn't come up before. TIA.

no codes. Checked all the fuses and fuel filter was changed about 4 months ago. Is there a way to check the fuel pump without removing the bed?
