DL8 - DL3 Conversion - 2016 Silverado LT / 1500 Crew Cab - Wiring Ques

Hello all,

New to the forum and have done a TON of reading on this. I know this is not a plug and play solution so I have downloaded the GM Upfitter Manual and have cross referenced my new DL3 Harness with my original DL8 Harness. My cross reference depicts what pins are missing between my new DL3 Harness versus what's missing in my DL8 Harness.

Here is my question.

I am tearing apart my donor harness as it seems that more pins are loaded in the DL3 Harness. I will be loading up all the missing pins that are required to get fold in/out, and passenger mirror control. I came across this part of the pin out and wondering how to decipher this.

If you see, pins 7 and 8, they are reserved for either memory seat switch or driver mirror motor fold out control. What if the truck has both options? Does this pin reference mean this will give me both functionality if connected? My concern is that my new Harness already has pins 7 & 8 connected. But I am missing part that connects to the other side of that connector. Hope that makes sense. Hoping someone can help out. I did not notice a pigtail on this wire that goes to another connector. Maybe this is what I need?

Just FYI -- the auto-dim will not work unless you have an auto-dim interior mirror and run wires from that out to each outside mirror. And the reverse-tilt will not work unless the dealer is able to re-flash the BCM (you need the option to turn it on in the DIC).

Thanks! After looking through other diagrams, I discovered that those options are based on trim levels. If the wire harness is from a trim that has seat memory, then it's on pin out option, and if no seat memory, then the other option. Thanks for the info!
