BlueRanch Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 My main concern is the type of leather they use in the rear seats in seating area. The SLT model had the rear seat made out of vinyl rather than real leather. This is pretty sad since my 2004 GMT800 Yukon had real leather in the backseats. Now, since I'm planning on the 2017 Yukon Denali, I'm wondering whither the rear seats upholstery are made of real leather or not?
O_J_Simpson Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 GM no longer makes leather seats for the truck lines. You get vinyl seats with leather like seating surfaces up front. Some of the cheapest material in car manufacturing produced today. Just buy the truck and replace the seats with aftermarket if you want real leather.
BlueRanch Posted August 9, 2016 Author Posted August 9, 2016 Woah! Not even the Denali? Because I'm expecting something different.....
boazEarl8 Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 Website reads "leather appointed" so you can't even be sure it is all seating surfaces like before (where they would write seating surfaces)
TheHauler Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Yeah thats weird if they dont do that. 2016 everyone has leather
pickmeup Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 From what I have read on it is a man made material with leather ''dust'' particles mixed into it and bonded to the vinyl. If you thinking it is true leather hide it is not . Not even close for that matter.
TJay74 Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Recently the GM leather seats have been all leather on the front side of the front seats and then the bonded leather on the sides and rear. The rear seats are fully bonded leather, doesn't matter if it is a SLT or a Denali/High Country. Makes me really appreciate the full Nappa leather package in our Audi.
dead dog Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 (edited) I have a 2015 GMC Canyon truck that has a burned out motor in the passenger seat. Is there a cross reference with other vechicle seats that I can use the motor from? The dealer wants to charge me for a whole new seat, which is really dumb. Edited September 27, 2021 by dead dog
