manufactured home

Looking at a property with some acreage in a good spot. Would never know it by looking at it but online it is listed as a manufactured/mobile home. However it is on a poured foundation with large finished basement. It is a large ranch style home with large vaulted ceilings. Newer home, maybe 15 years old tops. Any drawbacks to this even if it is considered a manufactured or mobile home. Could I expect this home to hold up well for years to come?

It all depends on how well it was built and maintained. Be sure to have a thorough, independent (don't use the seller's or realtor's recommended inspector) inspection done prior to signing any papers to make sure everything is correctly built, maintained, and up to codes.

check for steel beams. That is very uncomfortable in the frequencies to many people.

prefab could be using steel as the hauler, and sliding it onto foundations...ending with mostly wood. I still think it is easier to build..but whatever.

my dad loves those, the steel framing. He's been in a lower steel framed monster that looks like house for 24 years. No end in sight.
