Little Chevy Help

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have a 2002 Avalanche 5.3 4x4 Z-71. I use it on my hunting lease for filling feeders and hanging stands.

We get flooded a lot and I'm thinking "Snorkel" and can't find anyone who does the job, sells the kit.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you get deep enough in water with that rig, your gonna be up to the ignition coils as they are at about the same height as the airbox intake.. That will stop ya in your tracks regardless of whether or not the intake is raised....

But I have seen quite a few home fabricated setups on Jeeps fashioned from PVC pipe, rubber plumbing couplings and silicone.

Airboat solution?

I don't think you'll be in high enough water to need a snorkel. To have an idea of when you'll need one is if you have to go through water high enough to where it reaches your grille. So roughly to the top of the side plastic pieces. It will need to be even higher since yours is lifted and not stock height or just leveled.

Actually I popped a motor in my Jeep already. Yes the water thru a couple places will get high. I've had water come up on the hood already. The point is, after a sustained length of time is when it causes an issue.
