02 2500 HD trailer brk question

I have an 02 GMC 2500 HD pickup with factory trailer brakes on it. Last year I didn't have a problem with the trailer brakes when pulling my camper. A few months ago I was using a rental trailer and noticed that I hit the switch in the gear selector to use the towing option, the light on the dash didn't come on. I have not had the time to hook up to camper to verify that the tow option is working or not, but am wondering if hooking up the rental trailer might of blown a fuse. Also I do not have a owners manual to find fuse locations. Any suggestions out there?

go on gm's website and download the manual, but the tow-haul button is not connected to the trailer or the trailer brake controler. It's my understanding it is only used by the computers on the truck to alter when the transmission shifts and which gears get used.

Open the hood and look next to the brake fluid reservoir. There's a big black box with the words "ELECTRICAL CENTER" written on the lid. Just pull it off. If what you're looking for isn't there, open the drivers door. There's a triangular panel under the small round vent hole for the A/C. The door has to be open to access it otherwise you can't see it. Pull the panel off and check there.

Sorry I don't remember the details, but the wires from the tow/haul switch are very thin and sometimes break where there is movement of the shift lever. Orange or maybe yellow wire?

The switch will not nesesarily effect anything if you are not towing/hauling anything.
