scuffed up my front valance!

I was backing OFF of the driveway to hookup my trailer and drug the left portion of my front valance slightly. I genuinely feel that's it's not noticeable unless you are actually looking for it. I could be wrong, though haha. How many others have had issues with the front valance? And how common is it to accidently drag it?

Scuffed mine a few months ago coming off a curb at a football game after parking in the grass. It's not too noticeable. Common I'd say. Perhaps if I keep doing it I'll just replace it one day.

I accidentally tore mine half off when I did a little bit of off roading. It's a pretty common thing

I always scuff up the valance on our cars but have been pretty lucky with the truck. I would be inclined to remove my truck's valance if it got unsightly!

It's weird because I didnt realize how little clearance you truthfully have with the front valance. I've noticed it when I pull into parking places that have curbs or sidewalks. Glad I'm not the only one!

Second week I tore the valance off on a tall parking lot drain at work. I think the truck looks better without it.

Oh yeah mine is all beat up. It's just thin plastic. After I get my wheels/tires I'll probably take that and the steps off anyway to be honest.

Anyone do a test to see how if there's a noticeable fuel mileage drop with it removed?

Someone on here did. Something like 2-3 mpgs difference with valence off and front leveled.

I wonder if the truck handles differently with the valance removed or not? Like with tight curves?

Wow!! I figured it might help with 1/4mpg or something but never imagined it'd make that much of a difference.

The valance off doesn't make a noticeable difference in MPG. The guy who said 2-3 is probably due to the level and potentially tires, but not just the valance. Ive taken mine off my 14 and 15 trucks and noticed nothing. If it was anything it would be .1-.2.

There is a thread on this forum where a member did considerable testing on the difference. I believe the conclusion was that removal of your valance will not make a noticeable difference. I imagine it may have a minor impact on continuous highway travel.

Thats what they are there for, cheap replacement for when it looks really bad.
