Uneven front end after level kit

I installed a 1.5" level kit and have had mixed feelings about it. Sometimes I would look at it and think it was just right. Other times it seemed higher than I wanted. Then I realized that there was a difference between left and right sides causing this. The right side sits a little over half inch taller than the left. Most people wouldn't notice but now that I measured it drives me nuts.

Any ideas what would cause this? When i took the shock assemblies to get replaced with (4600s) i failed to mark left and right sides (jacked up truck and took both sides to a shop). I figured they were the same. On another site I read that thy might be different? Is it possible I put them on the wrong sides?

Could the shop have done something wrong on installation? It seems like you would have to really be bad at your job to assemble them wrong.

I did notice that they probably did not torque the top nut to the 19ft-lb spec as one is has more threads showing than the other. However the one that appears to be torqued harder is on the right, which is the taller side. It seems like that would make it sit lower unless I am thinking of it wrong.

Thanks for any ideas.

It's actually a common issue. As long as it tracks straight and no issues, it's perfectly fine. It's called the chevy lean.

Thanks. I wonder if it would hurt anything if I was to put a 1" spacer on the right and leave the 1.5 on the left? That would effectively level it out

It might physically be the same height if you do that, but it might throw off some of the suspension geometry. Your halfshaft angles might be the same now, even though the heights are a little off.

Ya the suspension, steering rack & pinion and half shaft wouldn't be equal so I wouldn't do that just to make it perfectly level. Also doing that you're only leveling the front, the rear would still be uneven and that could put stress on the frame since it would be slightly twisted since the front would be perfect and the rear would still be uneven.

I would recommend to stop stressing over 1/2" when the gas tank is the reason the driver side is lower. Plus since the gas tank becomes heavier and ligher as you use and fill up with gas it would throw off those heights. Maybe it wouldn't, but I beleive 1 gallon of gas is roughly 5 lbs I want to say, so 26 gallons is 130 lbs where 1/4 tank full would be about 36 lbs of gas.

I had a similar concern with my truck. I read about the Chevy lean and tried measuring with various amounts of gas in my tank. When I took it to the dealership and measured on the shop floor, both sides were exactly the same. I believe both sides of our trucks will be the exact same height only under ideal conditions.

Thanks for the help! I measured again today on a different and flatter surface. It sits about 3/8 off. I think I will just live with it if it's okay. My biggest fear was that I did something wrong when I did the lift or shocks. Sounds like it's normal. Thanks
