ROUGH START, IDLE AND CODE 430

I replaced my cat about 6 months ago. Complete unit of pipes. Ran great. Over labor day weekend had trouble starting it all of the sudden as if no fuel. I had to play with it to start. About 4 days of this thinking it was bad gas I used fuel injector cleaner, no real change, but it was then starting to idle really rough. Fuel pressure was bad, below 50psi and fuel gauge going crazy. this was going strange for the last 2 years. Bad fuel pump no problem this one was on warranty as it was now the FOURTH Airtex. I was upgraded to a delphi. However, I have the same problem and getting code DTC 430. A relative was having same problem with his 2001 gmc jimmy and diagnosed it as a fuel injector spider bank. I have checked numerous things for these symptoms. not really sure if this is it!

Other details: 1999GMC YUKON, 5.7 LITER, SLT 4WD, 259,000 MILES.

Any thoughts? Fuel injector pack is expensive but not that hard to install.

Pressure is 61 psi. today when I tried to start it, which it does, I heard a pop under the hood and some smoke. it appears a blow back through the throttle body spacer. i will be checking for exhaust leaks, broken vacuum lines and bad spark plug wires. Can't afford the injector spider set!

Don't know if it is related to my first problem of PO430 code, but it has back fired through the injectors this morning. Runs a bit rough at first but smooths out. No loss of power on highway, cruises at 70mph no problem.

I would take off the throttle body spacer and bolt your throttle body straight to the intake to see if that changes anything. Was it just air blowback or fuel?

I don't know what your budget is, but I'm sure that you can find a cheap spider injector set online. I bought the upgraded version for my v6 and it was under $200 on Amazon, I'm pretty sure you can get a v8 set for justcover $300
