285/70-17 fitment

I'm considering a small level just to get the front bumper up a little more for a slightly improved approach angle (air dam is already removed). I do not want the truck "level." I like some rake for carrying weight in the bed. I'm considering either a 1" lower spacer or Bilstein 5100s on either the .75" or 1.26" setting. I only want to pay to do this once, and looking ahead, I'd like for my next set of tires to be 285/70-17 Michelin Defender LTX M/S. What is the smallest amount of front lift required to fit 285/70-17 on stock wheels?

Over time I've read through most of the level kit thread, but most folks are going for truly level, bigger levels, or using aftermarket wheels. It would be perfect if 1" - 1.25" of lift up front would clear 285/70-17s. Thanks!

That's almost a 33" tire, I would say either a 1.5" or 2" level. If you go with the Bilsteins set it at either the 3rd or 4th notch down. The 4th notch will bring you up 1.8" which should be plenty

At one point had the wheels from my girls 4Runnner on my truck, no level/lift, actually the front was .5in lower than the stock Ranchos.

Rubbed slightly at full lock in reverse, could have been corrected with the NorCal fender mod.

I was running 285/70-17 on the stock wheels the bilsteins on the highest setting which is 1.85" and rub at all. You should be fine on the 1.26" but you would have to check fitment physically..

i am running that size of tire with 1.5 inch lift on the front and no rubbing

Outstanding, thank you! Does it look like there would still be enough clearance with .25" less lift? I really want to go with 5100s when it's time to replace my shocks, but I don't want to put them on their highest setting.
