MAC88 Posted June 15, 2003 Posted June 15, 2003 My old next door neighbor had an s-10 blazer 88(?) and I remember he lifted the front end by adjusting the torsion bars, or at least that is what I remember. Is this possible ? if anybody knows please clue me in because I will be adding a leaf on my rears for towing purposes and want to keep the truck with back higher than front not visa versa. i have a 92 K2500 6lug 4x4 with a 12 bolt rearend Any and all thoughts welcome!!!
gnet158 Posted June 15, 2003 Posted June 15, 2003 You can level the truck by turning (cranking) the trosion bars but be careful. I've hear that by doing so may give you a bumper ride and after you do it you will need to have your truck aligned. I've seen truck leveling kits that do the same thing without the T Bar crank. Good Luck!
wandell Posted June 16, 2003 Posted June 16, 2003 You can crank up the torsion bars, but get an alignment afterwards. The leveling kits consist of new torsion bar keys that are indexed differently. Guess what, all they do is increase the preload on the torsion bars also. I don't think you would want more preload on the bars than the stock adjusters allow.
