Again, sounds like you to a T...calling people names and insulting them is all you have done to those who disagree with your opinions. Perhaps changing your user name and restarting your place on this baord is in order.

No Clinton supporters get made if you voice your opinion and it doesn't conform to theres!!

Interesting how you point out downfalls while others find them benefits. The things you want in a truck can be had with another manufacturer, but you claim that makes GM subpar...please explain?

Just to let you know, I do believe it has 395 hp (plus it has to be certified by the SAE to claim it anyway).

I had two of them.

At the drag strip with my Crew Cab 4x4 Laramie, I did like high 14's at 95 mph.

I also took a 2013 FX4 Ford with 3.5 Ecoboost and did rolling runs with VBox timer, and the Ram equalled the Ecoboost in passing times and almost exactly match it in 0-60 times of 6.4 seconds, same day, same track, same timer and me driving both trucks. Both trucks were also new with under 2k miles on each.

The problem with the Ram is the weight, from having a lot of steel, heavy wheels/tires, heavier dual exhaust, and lots of options too. Almost every time you see one tested though they use the base 3.21 axle ratio instead of the 3.55's I had in my 2013 or the 3.92's I had in the 2014.

So even though it has 395 hp it needs that extra 30 hp or so to make up for the fact it's 200 lbs heavier than a GM (and pre 2015 Ford's) truck, and now like 500 lbs heavier than the new aluminum Fords (which are even faster).

If you haven't driven a Ram with the Hemi and 3.92 axle ratio, drive one, it's a quite burly engine actually, doubt you'll find it subpar or question the 395 hp the engine has considering the extra weight it drags around. I'd also put my money on the 5.7 liter over the GM 5.3 any day in a performance and pulling contest. The 5.0 in the Ford has 365 hp (now 375) and I drove the Hemi back to back with the Ford too and the Hemi felt stronger than the Ford 5.0 as well. So again, I don't question the 395 hp or the 407 tq rating.

Again, the reason I got the 6.2 in my GMC, I wanted something more powerful than the 5.7 Hemi I had, and the 5.3 felt and was quite weak by comparison to the Hemi. The 6.2 is noticeably stronger though, considering it has 25 more hp and several hundred pounds less weight.

I'm not a manufacturer fanboy, I like almost all brands, so I don't have loyalties. I just speak as I see it and experience it.

The Ram was a nice riding, super smooth driving, comfortable truck with good grunt. It had it's downfalls as well, just like the GM/GMC trucks do. Speaking of those downfalls shouldn't be a reason for others to attack other people's opinions and thoughts, I'm sure we can all agree with that.

Cheers guys

Did you read the post from the start? I think you are off a bit, i never said it was subpar, i simply stated some of the comforts i wish my truck had that other makes have. I stated all trucks have there pluses and minuses. I am not a forum harassing pro or one who chimes in on others opinions in all these post like some of you who list there interest as enjoying forum fighting. Seems like if you read them, i simply stated an opinion and everyone jumped on me and started the cry baby and whiner first! I fire back when fired upon, i was only replying to those who threw first!! No need to change my name and start over, I received feed back from some guys who understand what i was saying and have a normal response to a topic other than calling people names and starting word wars. I like reading this forum to hear about other guys builds and the troubles and successes, likes and dislikes with there trucks. Sorry i did not search this topic to see it has a thread way back when, as i stated i am not a forum trolling pro like you i guess, just a guy with a new truck and an opinion on it, nothing more, nothing less! I did not call you a crybaby for not wanting Ram exhaust in your face when hooking up a trailer!! LOL (I guess that's how these forums work)

Nope, I read your initial post. And as others including myself have pointed out, GM chose to execute their design in a different fashion than what you want. There are vents under the seat, they work for most people, doesn't mean the design is lacking, same with the light on the headliner to light up your glovebox, the fact that GM makes a underseat storage kit you can get added on....etc, all facts you have neglected, yet called those of us that challenged your claims Hillary supporters. And yes you did say GM is subpar....I referenced your thread since you can't seem to remember. Also when did I accuse you of calling me a crybaby? Now you're just making stuff up. Really, I think you need a thread reboot. Perhaps an apology to all for starting off on the wrong foot and insulting those who disagreed with your approach is in order. Please reference your quoted thread below. I bolded your specific comments, BTW lacking is a synonym of subpar.

After three Dodge Rams, 07, 10,14 sport crew cabs, I wanted to change things up a bit. I loved the look and styling of the new GMC sierra. With the 20% off incentives in October i ended up with a 2016 Denali 1500. I loved the comfort of the magnetic ride on the test drive, and with $12,150 off a $60,750 sticker i did the deal. Right off the bat i did the Suspension Maxx 2.5 front lift with 1.5 blocks in rear just to make it look more like a truck, since i was use to the the rams which are so much higher from the start. The kit is a quality one since not many out there work with the magnetic ride. It makes the truck look 100% better than stock.

So now after a month of owning the truck i thought i would express my opinion on here hoping maybe some GM R&D people would listen to consumers coming from other brand trucks! I looked at all trim levels online and have found these things lacking on all GM trucks.

First off there is no grab handle on drivers side pillar like on the passenger side. Really? If you want one you have to buy one for like $50. then install it, don't you think that is a basic thing to have on a truck!

Second thing is no light in either top or bottom glove box! You can go buy a KIA base model car and get a lighted glove box for crying out loud, but not in a $60K truck!!

Third is storage, my Ram had storage under back seats when flipped up, storage in floors under back seat foot rests, i took a whole bin of stuff out of Ram storage areas and could not fit any of it in GMC!

And Ram also had a fold flat floor that folded down when back seats where up to make the floor flat to put stuff on instead of raised hump like in GMC.

Forth is a biggie, there are no heat ducts to the back seats, every other brand truck i have ever ridden in has some kind of ducts under the seat or in the center console between front seats with vents facing the rear seats. My Ram had both under the seats and in console.

Another concern is that my truck has the automatic retracting running boards, you can lock them in so they don't come out in your settings but no setting to have them lock in the out position which i think is stupid, i live in northern N.Y. where we get a ton of snow, i can already see those boards freezing in with the slush and snow after sitting in the driveway over night even though i put on mud flaps, maybe i am wrong we will see, but how easy would it have been to have an option to lock them out!

Well after all my ranting i do like the truck, even though its been back to dealer three times in 1500 miles for uconnect phone and electronic issues, so hopefully the GM guys will read this and step it up a little for a truck that is lacking in my eyes!

Interesting how you point out downfalls while others find them benefits. The things you want in a truck can be had with another manufacturer, but you claim that makes GM subpar...please explain?

Steve, I guess you don't believe others can have other opinions from you own.

Others have every right to consider some things benefits, just like others have the right to find some things downfalls.

Never said GM is subpar. I bought a GM brand truck for a reason, but that doesn't mean I'm delusional enough to think it's PERFECT and there are zero downfalls with it. I also don't find there to be absolutely anything wrong with someone pointing out those downfalls, or their right to vent about it, or their right to state they wish they'd improve those things.

I'm a car guy, my 2013 Ram was the very first truck I'd ever bought.

I swapped it for a 2014 on Chrysler's dime because my 2013 had some paint irregularities and smears that I didn't see on the test drive and walk through. Chrysler wanted to repaint my whole truck. I told them F no, give me a new one.

They refused, I threatened lawsuit, they caved and gave me a 2014 at no additional cost with two additional options, and my 4 payments to my 2013 transferred to my 2014.

So no it wasn't perfect but with some prodding Chrysler made it right. I traded my 2014 in for my Challenger Hellcat, as I'm a car guy at heart.

But I missed the utility of the truck. But didn't want to get another Ram Laramie which for 2016 or 2017 is exactly the same as my 2014.

I wanted a change.

I got the GMC for reasons I posted in another post in this thread.

One can buy a Ferrari and have complaints about it, feel there are downfalls to it, or wish there were things different.

NO CAR or NO manufacturer is perfect.

I'm not a fanboy or loyalist to one or two manufacturers. I buy what I like at the time.

I have a 2017 Chevy SS in Nightfall Grey Metallic and 6 speed manual on order, and I've never driven one. I'm getting it because of what it is. And trust me, I'm sure their will be things I wish were better or different on it, and if I voice it, who is anybody to complain about me doing so, or telling me to get lost or sell it just because one voices their opinions or concerns about it. And there ARE THREAD on the SS forums with issues and complaints about the car, it's good to read and it's good for others to learn from.

If people don't want to read others "complaints" or issues, don't read it, but complaining about what others are doing and saying, is hypocritical and completely useless to everyone. People like to vent, let them, don't belittle someone for venting, by venting yourself, you know?

I like my GMC with 6.2 liter V8. It's a strong truck. Needs a bit more sound, so I'm putting an aftermarket muffler on it. I'm also putting some aftermarket wheels on it, and may get a leveling kit too. If I wanted another truck I'd of gotten the other brand. I picked the GMC because it's what I wanted and liked the best at the time.

Cheers man.

My 1300 posts have been a lot more helpful than your 102....feel free to go over the vast amounts of helpful replies i posted in past in the numerous other threads. When you have been a productive member of some time than you can talk otherwise STFU. Yes you are bitching. Your truck isnt loud enough, its not quick enough, it doesnt have auto fog,ihhts...wa wa wa

Have you looked in the mirror (or read all your posts here)?

You aren't helping anything and all you are doing is bitching about what YOU feel is other people bitching.

Move on if you don't like the thread Steve, don't stick around to bitch about it if you don't like it. LOL

Thanks, at least you get it Driver 72,! I think Steve is LACKING the knowledge to understand what we are saying!!

The only thing I have got from you and your pal is that you are both Ram fans, who regret buying a GM for frivolous reasons and that both of you bought trucks you now don't like because you didn't practice due diligence. It's not GMs fault you're ignorant. I'm done going back and forth with you two, you have both already shown your ignorance over and over, by resorting to stupidity and accusing those of us who like our trucks as fan boys....Well as they say, you can't rationalize with irrational people. It's truly sad, that instead of enjoying your trucks, you choose to look for warts. As others have said, OP, you could of got more honey had you practiced a more tactful approach, maybe, "what options would you like to see on the next gen GM?" or what features do you wish your truck had? Or what does Ford, Ram, or Toyota do better? Instead you call people Hillary supporters, poor, immature because they challenge your approach. Sad.....sad indeed. And with that, I leave this thread knowing that I had the last word.

I guess I screwed the pooch when I bought my '16 denali sight unseen...no test drive either. Saw a picture of it online. Had no idea they didn't put a light in the glove box. Hell, I've had it for 3 months now and can't recall even opening the glove box. I'm Going to sit down and write a letter to GM about how disappointed I am in them. Give them a good ole guilt trip. Sons of bitches!!!
