Hood latch

2007 silverado NBS. Cable is stuck somewhere keeping my hood from latching so it's stuck open. Very annoying. Is this a problem anyone else has had? If any one could point me in the right direction as far as certain spots in the cable where this might be common. Thanks guys

Likely a strand within the stranded cable snapped and is caught up preventing cable from returning. Logic suggests either near release handle where bare wire enters sheath or at other end near latch where bare cable exists sheath (but inside sheath). In either case, one end of the broken strand should be loose and visible. Outside chance it's deep in the sheath and wrapped around the rest of the cable.

Ended on being a gunked up latch and the return spring needed a little help.yup

Yup - I spray my latch & catch bar and hinges regularly with light spray oil, light oil - will not hold dirt (for the most part).

also do my door hinges & tailgate hinges & lock, & soak my snow plow with it
