Hey what is the coolant hose that is under butterfly assembly for? I just installed a helix power tower plus on my 07 5.3 . It's from Taylor Vertex Co. and noticed a slight increase in power. They say it will improve fuel economy .

I found out its to keep throttle from icing in cold climates.

there's no icing on a fuel injected,  motor.  its for binding issues in cold weather most likely, due to tight fitting butterfly brass valve against alluminum housing

3 dissimilar metals in the TB, machined to operate and hold tight tolerance at operating temps. i think the bodies are a high silicone alloy alluminum, similar to hypeutectic pistons , they dont change shape , but the steel shaft, and brass butterfy is growing and shrinking at a different rate. I would recommend leave the hoses connected and run a 160-175 thermostat
