Pic Request: Snow Wheel / Tire Combos

Looking for snow wheel / tire combo for my silver 2014 Sierra Denali. Stock suspension. AMP Research side steps. Would like to see some set ups prior to making a decision. Thanks!

I keep my wheels the same throughout the year, but I would buy the least expensive take-offs from my dealer for dedicated snow tires. If you live in an area with heavy snow buy a wheel/tire size that allow for chains. Your owner's manual has a comment on what sizes cannot be chained-up. Keeping my Michelin all seasons fresh with the occasional use of 4X4 has kept me going through the past 20 or so Canadian winters!

i keep the stock wheels on as well. in the past i have plastidipped them just to protect them from the salt and such. But i think this spring ill be getting a new set so i don't care so much

thanks! i have 22 inch chrome wheels on my truck. i am not so much concerned about the ability to get through the snow--i really don't want to ruin the finish on my wheels.

 

i actually didn't know dealerships sold take-offs. do i just call the parts department? i am in Maryland--so nothing like your Canadian winters! appreciate the advice.

I run a set of '06 Avalanche '17's with Firestone Winterforce 265/70-17

put the wheels in the blast cabinet glass beads, primed with zinc etching and covered them in ceramic satin black

Customers sometimes negotiate the purchase of their new truck with optional or custom wheels. The parts or the sales department sells these "take-offs". I come across a lot of base model wheels but the good ones do come up once in awhile. (Usually when I'm not looking!) BTW, I personally think your chrome wheels would be very resilient to the winter road grime and clean up nicely.

I had chrome on my car before this truck never had an issue with the winter BUT they actually use sand up here instead of salt so that was a contributor.

 

I just put new wheels and tires on my truk though, I had stock z71 wheels and SR-A's. So now the setup is Black Rhino Everest, in the sun they appear chrome but they are "silver w/mirror cut face" and the tires are Goodyear Duratracs which are an all-terrain winter tire

Still running the factory 20's and wearing out the factory rubber in summer.

 

Got a set of aluminum 17" take-offs from the dealer and equipped with KO2's for winter.

 

They are noiser.

 

The combo does ride softer, but don't know if it's the ko2's or the 17" vs 20".
