Canopy Recommendations

New truck coming soon - I hope. I currently have a Leer XL100 and it has held up well over the 10yrs I have had it. I really did not look around that much back then there was only one dealer near me and they had Leer and Snug Top - the Snug Top did not have anything ready for the new body style 07 trucks. Leer had molds and were turning out product - I still had to wait 3 mos to get it. Then it took over an hour to get it set on the truck properly.

 

I now have Leer, ARE, and Snug Top plus a few off brands.

 

So tell me what you have and why you chose it.

I have a leer on my 2016 which I like however when comparing it to my father-in-laws 2016 who has an ARE I like his better for one reason. The ARE shell fits tighter to the bed meaning there isn't as much overhang side to side. What this also means is that the overall width of the ARE is narrower and matches the cab width better than the leer. Maybe about 1/2 inch narrower. For all the other features its a toss up. I recommend looking at as many 2015-2016 trucks with canopies up close as you can so you can see those subtle differences.
