MagnaFlow Exhaust

Hello everyone I've been looking int installing the Magnafloe 15617 system on my 02 reg cab 5.3L does any one have this system and how do you like it? My only concern is that if i put this system is that the truck only has 12,000 Km and i don't think that it is broken in enough yet and it still has 2 years of warranty on it and if something happens the dealer will try to blame it on the system. Thank-you

In regards to your Magnaflow system, I just recently put a custom Magnaflow system on my 2000 5.3L Z71. It sounds great. I used on of Magnaflows mufflers and two of their huge stainless tips. The Magnaflow product is great, I love the sound when I get on it, but it is really quiet while driving. As far as your concerns about the warranty. What I have heard and done some research on, as long as you don't mess with the Cat on your truck, then you should be allright. In fact, the last time I had my truck in, the techs complemented my exhaust system. I think that you will be allright putting this system on your truck. Let us know what you decide!

Congress in 1975 enacted the federal Magnuson-Moss Act to regulate written consumer product warranties. The only item that will no longer be covered under the manufacturer's warranty is the exhaust system that you add. If there is any part failure on the truck, the dealer will have to prove that it was caused by the exhaust. If you want more peace of mind, call your dealership's service manager and get his opinion. I added a catback with 4000 miles on my truck, also added headers, airaid, magnecor wires, and torque master plugs along with a Granatelli MAF and Hypertech programming.

When I took the truck in for warranty work (many many times) I had no problems with the service writer or manager. The only item that the service manager advised against installing was a supercharger during the warranty period as he claims it would void the powertrain warranty. The 4L-60E transmission is rated at 300 hp. With the supercharger, you're looking at 385+.

Yeah a while back I was looking at adding a magnaflow to my truck and I will probably do that as soon as I get the cash flow, however...... It looks like I will be putting tires on my truck first then exhaust........
