Time to upgrade the sound system again

The magnets are so strong, the pictures shows as close as I can get them before they push away.

They sound very good (the 3" drivers, not the tweeters), I am actually a bit surprised. It doesn't look like it is going to be an easy install. I was only able to hook them up and leave them on the dash because it looks like I am going to have to make a bracket, probably out of MDF, so that I can mount to stock location, recess the screws and then be able to mount this onto that.

Might as well make 2 sets of mdf rings :)

Haha. Picking up a set? I already made my template that will have the full mounting surface for the speaker and have flanges that will be countersunk for the screws. That way, it fits with the OEM screws and then the speaker right over it. Drill some pilot holes and a simple right angle screwdriver (only $3 at Harbor freight) and you're good to go. Let me know if decide to do it. If you want to hold off, I'll just get you the dimensions and you can take it to a shop to have them cut it out.

I figure I might as well go ap 3 way. And it'd pair nicely on my audison 6ch

I just need to pick up a bit ten d

Do yourself a favor and run a Helix. The interface and reliability are far superior to the Audison stuff.

I just got rid of my helix. The reason I'm wanting to go bit 10 is because you dot need a remote wire and the bit 10 d comes with the remote.

With the helix you need to buy the director separately. Which I've already had

I have very limited knowledge on Helix but I was originally after a bit 10 ND nearly everyone, including my installer, pushed me towards either a Mosconi, Helix, or Arc. For the remote wire, Helix has signal sense and it works perfectly fine when I was using it. I like have a dedicated source so I used a remote wire. As for the remote, I know nothing about that lol. I just know it's an expensive little piece.

With that said, you can always check out miniDSP. A lot of people seem to like it.

I like the helix and the director remote for it. But, the cord for the director was an issue. It either worked or it didn't. If it didn't, I had to go out and try and find a cord. That may or may not have worked

Unfortunately i had 1 that didn't work so I spent a lot of time trying to find a cord that did

How much space is behind the sail panel in the front door? I haven't had the doors off yet. I'm liking the ap1.3.6 3 way system and if the tweeter will flush mouth there is think I'm going to pull the trigger on the set

About an inch. There is a bolt behind it that will need to be trimmed if the flush mount is too deep. Wait until tomorrow since I am going to have the door apart again and I can tell you if it fits. I was thinking of flush mounting because of the fact that these can be pivoted to properly aim them. With that said, the shop did not want to flush mount them because the drivers side tweeter would be hitting the hump over the gauge cluster and mess up the imaging. I don't know how important that is to you, especially if you are going 3 way but just saying. I'll let you know how much space is available

Perfect. I like to keep stuff factory looking. If you do end up making through rings for the dash. Let me know and I'll send you money to make a second set. I am done cutting up vehicles for audio. I no longer compete so I don't really need to do anything custom anymore

From this, I can't judge if it will work with a flush mount or not until I take my old tweeter off. I may try to do it tonight but no guarantees.

Mounting depth on them is 0.59"

Looks like you shouldn't have any issues but you MAY need to shave down the bolt which shouldn't be too much work. I'll have a better idea tomorrow. Out of sunlight for today
