Dad had a few friends over this afternoon; and I just couldn't resist taking this picture of FOUR Chevrolets (ignore the hidden Suzuki) taking up space in the driveway! The K2 on the right is a Fully loaded 2015 LTZ Crew Cab in Brownstone Metallic; and the one on the left is a 2014 Double Cab LT in Summit White; and of course, our 2009 RCSB and my personal DD; a 2010 Aveo Sedan need no introduction.

Looks like decent weather down there. What was the temperature?

It was about 40 degrees when I took the photo; and it's dropped down to 30 when I moved the truck to fill up my Aveo's tires up a few minutes ago.

Once in a while; the area is usually too warm for snow to stick; or if it does stick, it's only for a couple of days; depending on tree coverage. The real threat is ice storms. About 3 years ago, there was a nasty ice storm that knocked out power to our house for several days. In fact, the local NBC affiliate station was reporting on the outage a quarter of a mile from our house at the truck stop when the power company restored power on live TV. And when the news even MENTIONS the S word, people around here act like the people on that one Dodge commercial.

I wonder if going gm really is like dominoes. :)

I skipped over ten years after going mythological with the small block at all hours, all year for years.

I had met someone who lived on my travelling route to work, he specifically remembered my same dual exhaust noise nearly every day.

I never forgot. It is not just us keeping a familiar vehicle.

I wasn't even sure how lucky I got (I am a mechanic- even my 1981 chevette ran and ran and ran)

where minus zero is more than half of a 90 day period even in these global warming days.

I exceeded coolnat value once, left a mile of road in an ice fog that did not move...kept on running after a frozen hose swap and fill.

I bought the 1996 truck nearly sight unseen, just by the ad. I left off with injection being quite new, prices over doubling.

my dad decides out of the blue he wanted one a few months ago, bought a 2016. He liked my 1996. Now at 359k .. those needed the manual tranny to even begin to talk of longevity, but facts are always necessary if you are serious.

I am now personally looking for the elusive 6.5 turbo with the nv4500.. late 1990s.

Y'all rack up the miles for sure, those trucks have been good to your family!

I will get a picture of our neighbor's driveway. Nothing but Chevys from various years.

Here's the driveway full of Chevys I mentioned before. I haven't had a chance to talk with the neighbors yet, but want to find out about their loyalty to the Bow Tie.
