$17 MOD: Wireless Charger Embedded in Sierra Center Console

My latest mod was fairly easy to do:

1. Bought this charger off amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-wireless-Sleep-friendly-Compatible-Qi-enabled/dp/B01D8D5NCA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486180739&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=pleson+fast+charge+wireless&psc=1 ($17)

2. Took it apart to get the wireless circuitboard out.

3. Removed rubber from top of console.

4. Cut hole in console to fit wireless charger.

5. Ran fast charge cable to fast-charge wireless charger and put rubber back on.

No, I just used 3m automotive tape I got off amazon a while back. It holds it down well enough and doesn't slide. I have attached a couple pictures of how to easily take the charger apart.

- Remove the rubber ring on the underside of the charger and it will expose 5 screws.

- Unscrew them and that plate lifts off. I used a small dremel cutting tool to cut out the shape of the charger (Through the first layer).

- You only need to make a small hole for the microUSB on the underside of the console.

- Make sure you remove the plate on the bottom side of the console before starting. Hope this helps.

This is on my short list. Have any issues with it charging through the rubber and a case? I've got some cheap chargers and you have to put the phone very precise to get it to charge.

Took it on a 30 minute trip today. No issues with charging through case or rubber

Looks good. My "Phablet" is a little too wide for the narrower indentation on the LTZ console. It would work if I took the protective case off. I'm going to look for a super-thin case.
