Bye-bye clunk...

Well I went to get rid of that irritating "clunk" today by "greasing the 'ol yoke"

But.... I came across a slight problem. That darn drive shaft would NOT budge. Even tapping on it with a hammer and piece of wood wouldn't help. So I gave up on it and torqueed it back down at 19 lbs and said screw it.

But I did do the front and rear differential fluid and changed out the transaxle fluid with the Autotrac II. I also switched to the Sylvania Silverstar's and replaced the DRL's with the ambers.

So far.... no cluck. But the true test will be tonight when it's a bit cooler and I'm going through town at a slower speed.

I'll let you all know what happens ~

When you say it would not budge, do you mean from the rear end area or do you mean from out of the tranny area?

The drive shaft would not move forward towards the transfer case to move it away from the rear differential to let me drop the shaft down to get to the yoke.

Wouldn't budge a bit.
