Tire Fitment

I have a 2015 Silverado LT with a 2.5" Rough Country Leveling kit. Right now I'm running 265/70r18 Nitto Terra Grappler A/T's but will be in need of tires within the next couple weeks.

I've read a little bit on here about fitment with this leveling kit and have seen a few people putting 275/70r18 and 285/65r18's on their trucks. I like the aggressive beefier look of the 285 but don't want to lose the tread height. Has anybody had success running 285/70r18's without rubbing or having to trim anything?

Right now looking at 285/65r18's Toyo Open County AT2 but if the 285/70r18's fit I want to go with those. Any suggestions?

285/70/18 will be pushing it. 285/65/18 will fit. 285/65 is just below 33", 285/70 is just below 34". I would say you will have minor rubbing with 285/70, am not 100% sure on this though.

I'm running 275/65/18. They measure out to 32.1 x 11 with the tires I have. Still have the beefy look with stock suspension.

My next tires will likely be 295/65/18 Goodyear Duratracs. They spec out at 33x12. I currently have 275/65/18s (32x11) and at times they look a little small. From the pics I've seen of 275/70/18s, they look too narrow for my taste at 33x11.

I am running 305/65r18 with the 2.5" rough country lift on -12 offset wheels with very little rubbing ant full turn on a 2016 z-71 crew cab

A 285/65 is the same height as your 265/70s at roughly 32.5"

height wise it is the same, problem is 265/70 is 10.4" wide and 285/65 is 11.2" wide. Almost a whole inch wider. This is the difference that I don't know how much room they have to play with.

Here are some pics with Cooper AT3's LT 275/70/18's and Nitto Trail Grappler's LT285/65/18/s Currently running the Coopers. The Nitto's rubbed ever so slightly on the UCA off road.

You will have minor scrubbing at full lock with the 285/70r18's. Anything much bigger than 33's in the 275+ widths are going to scrub on these trucks, leveling kit or not.

Scott truck looks awesome especially with the Nittos. FWIW think minor rubbing is due to the large tread lugs of that tire. IIRC the Toyo Open Country AT2, Nitto Terra Grappler, BFG KO'S or similar All Terrain tire may not have that issue.

Rolling Thunder, yes the oem 18 in Z71 wheels. Lgetz, yes you are correct about the lugs being the only part to rub. I wouldn't have even known if I didn't see the marks on the UCA. Thanks guys. Hope the pics help you decide. Too bad Nittos rode like hell. lol They're gone.

I was unsure. That's why I always keep returning to them, I still think they are about the nicest looking OEM wheels GM supplied.
