G4 Elite on 2017 Sierra

I am having problems with installing my Fold-a-Cover G4 Elite. The latches near my tailgate adjusted and latched after little effort. However, I have been messing with the front panel near my cab and cannot get it to latch. I am not even to the point of getting it to adjust flat yet. It seems like the latches are having trouble engaging on the striker bolts. I close the panel and they grab, but the moment I apply any pressure to check if they locked, they disengage. I also do not have anymore room for adjustment to bring the bolts higher for engagement which worries me about trying to lower them to adjust the panels to be flush. I called Steffens and they sent me a troubleshooting guide but it hasn't helped with my issues.

Anyone have any similar experiences and/or recommendations?

IIRC, I had my front bolts snug at first, then latched the lid to them. I made sure the latches closed completely. I folded up the cover on top of the front panel for weight. Then I loosened the bolts so that the lid would lay flat. I tightened the bolts in that position. If you're latches are releasing when you put a slight pressure on the lid to open, you may need to adjust the cables to allow more slack so that the latches close completely.

I've tried doing this a little bit, but maybe I didn't focus on this enough. I'll give it a go!
