I need help - where can I get LED's for the daylight running lamps? They're having the tendency of burning up! Can anyone help?

Are you looking specifically for LED's or just for bulbs with a longer life than the oem's? I know everyone has noted that the factory bulbs have burnt out quick. I replaced both of mine, when the first one went, with the amber long life bulbs from Sylvania. Still going strong with 49k on the clock...just something to consider if LED's aren't a must.

I replaced my DRL's today w/ the Sylvania amber long life bulbs. The stockers had not gone out yet but I figured I'd beat them to the punch. :fume: I like the look of the amber better too! :jester:

Nice job, Ghost, you'll be quite happy with them. I love seeing them on the road, makes it easy to tell who has taken a little time to mod their truck.

I like them because it makes it easier for all my friends to tell it's me. There are lots of Blue Sierra's running around but mine is the only one with Amber DRL's. So you can spot me coming from about 1/2 mile away........

If you are going to use LED I would look at LEDtronics. I know they are a whole lot more expensive but I tryed the APC LED (I dont know why but I bought an APC product :fume: ) and they were terrible. :smash::eek: I tryed this in the tail lights of my OBS Chevy. I took the LEDs back and bought Slyvania long life bulbs. In the case of LEDs it is truly you get what you pay for.

The LED's are definitely not as bright as the bulbs. The expensive $45+ LEDtronics ones maybe. The 19 LED ones I've tried are about half as bright in daylight. Nice deep orange color though. Untill they get cheaper and a whole lot brighter, I'm sticking with Sylvania LL line (3157NALL, 194NALL)

well if we are ever in the same part of town, it could get confusing. I got the amber DRL's too!

I tried the APC red LEDs (which is a cluster of 8 or 10 LED's actually) and spent $5 on fuses before I took the LED's back. They looked badass, but when I put them both in, the fuse would blow every time. Leaving in only one worked, but the second blew it.

If you get it to work, please let me know what brand you used.

ALSO on brightness, the LED is way brighter than bulb... at least on the red anyhow.

**NOTE** I think using red is actually illegal... looks badass though
