I got a conversion kit from Misterjungs. I questioned buying it myself. But after inspection of the parts upon arrival of the kit, I changed my opinion. No cheap stuff in it, genuine Hella ballasts and Osram HID bulbs. Put together very nice. When looking at HID conversion kits, placement of the HID capsule is the key to a good beam pattern. Think of a Mag light, if you adjust the head out away from the bulb the beam gets narrow. Adjust the head in towards the bulb it gets wide. Same principal applies in an auto headlight. The Misterjung kit keeps the HID capsule in the same positon as the filament in the stock halogen bulb. It doesnt have the precise beam cut-off like projector headlights would provide, but it is still very distinct. Trust me people will know you have HID. I didnt think light output of the 5200K kit would be that great due to the OEM GM headlight housings but it turned out awesome! I like my retina burning head lights!! If anyone here is looking at HID and doesnt want to pay for the Xenarcs, I would definitely say give www.Misterjung.com a shot! Several of my friends have gone with one of hist kits and are very happy with it!

5200K is 3400 Lumen, 6000K is 3000 Lumen, 7000K is 2800, 7500K is 2400 lumen and really blue. Good 'ol stock halogen bulbs put out around 1500 lumen.

I dont have a picture of mine but I do have one my friend sent me of his old Bimmer with one of the Jungs 5200K kits. The pictures dont do the lights justice!

My Escalade came with HID low beams, I added HID high beams and HID fog lights, if you do a lot of night time driving this is the way to go. ;)

Of course the only ones off in this picture are the ones you wanted to look at. I'll try to get a pic for you, but the bottom line is: They're brighter, have a more uniform pattern, and cover more of the roadside.

I would try to find a pair quick. If NHTSA has there way it will be illegal to modify your lighting system on your car.

I was on the phone with my CATZ light rep on friday trying to order a HID kit for a customers 03 suburban and he told me that they can no longer import them. He also sells the Sylvania system but he said NHTSA is in the process of going after them. So there might be a big recall on all these kits because they are not compliant.

The Sylvania kits are designed around the HID light with a completely compliant assembly/ reflector. It meets all of the legal limits that NHTSA has. I hope they don't have to recall it because it is a great product. The assembly is actually made by the OEM assembly maker so I can't see how there is an issue. I agree with BTW574, if you are interested in it, I would go get it because it may not be available in the aftermarket, even though I don't see how their is a case. I would go 100% legal with the SYLVANIA kit because you know they will stand behind their product and you get the new reflector with the kit. You can actually learn more and purchase right at sylvania.com.

It is a stemming from complaints from people who do not like the glare of HIDs.

According to my rep the lighting test that is use is so old that they only measure light out put at 4 spots now to pass a light. They are now talking about changing that to 100 test points on a light pattern for it to be compliant.

I am thinking about not carrying aftermarket non DOT light bulbs at work any more as he is estimating in the next year you will not be able to buy replacement light bulbs that are not approved

This all came about because auto manufatures were complaing on how much it takes to get a cars lighting system approved and aftermarket manufatures to not have to do any testing or approval.
