2016 silverado front bumper/grill painting

so i got a 2016 silverado in autumn bronze metallic with the dreaded chrome front bumper. ive been toying around the idea with vinyl and painting professionally, however im going to take a chance and try plastidip. probably going to do a black with metallic and then gloss over it. has anyone had any luck with plastidipping these bumpers?

You're putting temporary/peel-able paint on the part of your truck that probably takes the most beating... I've never used plastidip but I'm not so sure in a few months of expressway use it'll look that good.... just my two cents

 

Bumpershellz is coming out with a 16 Silverado front over soon. Save your money and buy that. They look good.

Not plasti dipping, but I was able to find a black painted bumper (just the bare bumper part) for $200. After swapping it out, I sold my chrome for $220. New bumper came with front sensor holes... so that's another project I'll be working on.

I plastidipped the shroud over the grille on mine. I can say it has held up good over the past month I've had it on and I've travelled quite a bit Mississippi to Tennessee Nd back and then to Alabama and back. But. I'm probably going to get it painted once I get other priorities straightened out.

Or prob go with the bumper shellz since it'll be a lot cheaper.

 

Also that's not rock chips. It's just dirt and bugs [emoji29]

good to know theres a product coming out. i think ill just do the plastidip for now, ($30 to hold me over) just until the bumper shellz come out. thanks guys!
