Hi everyone my names Zach. I live in SWFL. So Im looking for some info and help. My 2008 4.3l W/T 1500 silverado makes a horrid sound from the rear end. I ended up checking for fluid and somehow somewhere it all dissapeard. Truck has over 130k miles on it. I took it to a shop and was quoted over 3k to get a rebuilt axle assembly put into it. So I guess the question is what year rear ends would work under my truck that I could find at a local pick and pull? Would the best option be to try and find anither 2008 or would a older generation work? Ive never done this type of work but 3k seemed like a ton of cash to be spent on something I could ask my friends to help with. Thank you in advanced for looking at this post and helping me get back to driving my truck. Car life is not fun hahaha.

Take it to other shops to get quotes and don't tell em what the other shops are quoting ya. $3000 is way too much.
