Replace FM Antenna w/CB Antenna

My plan to mount my CB antenna onto the toolbox has become more difficult than I wanted because the box is low-profile and there's not enough room. Since it's going to be hard to do regardless of what I choose now, I'd like to make it harder on myself.

 

I was thinking again about mounting the CB antenna in place of the AM/FM mast and using a splitter on the the new mast feed both systems. I was looking at it and it seems like the stock antenna would be easy enough to remove, but I'm not sure how to get the CB mast mounted.

 

Has anyone done this? If so, what did you use for the AM/FM antenna cable and did you reinforce the mounting on the cowl?

Someone posted a post awhile back on this same topic of a colorado swapping out the stock antenna for a CB one. it can be done

I saw that, I was just wondering if anyone had done it on one of ours. It looks like if I can fab up an isosceles triangle roughly 40mmx30mm, then I could do it.

 

Does anyone know where the antenna cable goes into the cab? It's hard to see without taking off the fender.
