Its also affected by the threat or possibility of an event, whether or not it actually happens or affects oil production.

Bingo!

A refinery worker in Texas phones in sick & gas prices in Ontario go up a nickel.

Every spring the price jumps when they switch to summer blend.

According to gas buddy, the average US price has gone up about 12 cents in the past 2 weeks.

I don't recall them using the excuse in the past though. The secondary excuse up here was to blame you folks in the US for driving more and increasing demand for gasoline.

Canucks blame the marketers for buying gas from the US, but guess what NIMBYs don't want refineries in Canada. I'm not sure how many have closed over the years, so a lot of our oil is shipped to the US for refining & then trucked back to Canada.

A refinery on either side of the border reduces production & the whole supply chain goes for a crap. Just wait until we hear the 'summer maintenance' line trotted out.

They haven't built a new refinery here in the US in ages either. And tons have closed in the northeast in the past dozen or so years.

Now this is a funny thread. Drive it like ya stole it. Let it idle six hours a day but whine when the price goes up or the blend suffers efficiency. What should rational make of this I think? :nonod:
