1988 Gmc Sierra or gk1?

Just bought this . From what i know its a Sierra but The title says its a gk1 . What does gk1 mean?

It isn't actually a Sierra. Prior to 99 Silverado/Sierra was just a trim level. You have either a C1500 (2WD) or K1500 (4WD).

I could not find that as an RPO code.. except something about a fleet vehicle incentive...from some french company.

that was listed here at gm-trucks.

like g80

or the gear set, many combos..

3.73 is the gem for those years.

Who knows? The state isn't always on the ball with that stuff. My Wrangler was a "Chrysler Wrangler" according to the state.

 

My only guess was prior to 88 the K1500 was a K10. Maybe it's supposed to represent GM K 10 as an abbreviation?
