Outside Mirrors Stopped working.............

On my 2001 Sierra, My outside(Driver and Passenger) mirrors will not adjust using the rocker switch on the drivers door. Must the entire door be replaced or will some electronic cleaner work?

 

Can the cover for that switch be removed. Will that require that the door be removed? Or will a small screwdriver clip it off. How do I do that?

 

I hope it's the screwdriver works...................

I had a 2001 never had this issue but its very common for those trucks. It could be the switch or the motor for the mirrors themselves. Bot are easy to take apart. I would suggest looking at some YouTube videos they will show you how to take the door panel off. You can find replacement mirrors for around $30 a piece and the mirror switch for about $12 on eBay. I replace the switch in my 2000. It was easy. No need to remove the whole door panel, the switch panel comes off separately. There are no screws, it just pops off. U tube vids are an excellent suggestion. Once you see how simple it is, you can probably have it done in 15 minutes. Since both mirrors quit at the same time, I would start by replacing the mirror controls.
