2017 GMC 1500 Sierra SLT OEM standard Mirrors to OEM towing Mirrors?

Hello everyone just bought the Sierra 1500 SLT on Saturday. Damn dealer wants $1100 to install towing mirrors..I told them to take a flying leap.

Now, I am more than capable to swap these but I do have some questions.

let me start by saying my stock mirrors are the retractable, with LED turn signals.

1. the OEM towing mirrors, do they need they extra harness?

2. does the truck need to be "programmed" after the new mirrors are installed? Dealer said it needs to be reprogrammed.

I know there are aftermarket mirrors and to be honest I prefer to keep OEM on my truck. Yea I'll pay more for OEM but thats ok. I'm just to cheap to pay someone to install when I am perfectly capable.

I actually have a 2017 Silverado LT2 in the process of having these put on by my dealer, for me in Canada though it`s around $1600 but I feel ya haha

I have helped over 100 Members on this Forum complete this upgrade. From those wanting to go from DL8 Mirrors to DL3, from DL8/DL3 to Towing Mirrors.

I have made this process Plug and Play and offer custom built harnesses to make this upgrade possible. For those that have purchased my custom harnesses, none have needed a Dealer Program. It has not been determined yet on what actually happens with a BCM Calibration or Memory Module Calibration. If for any reason, my harnesses do not achieve what you are looking for, I offer a full refund.

Harnesses are needed as the lighting circuits are different between the mirrors.
