They were/are having a pretty good year and now this. Looks like they wont be making the playoffs

Dude that sucks.I really hate to see anyone's or any team's season shortened by an injury.There leaves little in the way of competition in such instances and Patterson was a huge part of the Cubbies offense.

 

I am an Astros fan admittedly but I do like to see the Cubs do good because they have been somewhat down for so long.I really wish injuries didn't happen but if that were the case I shudder to think where the 'Stros could be right now having missed Oswalt and Kent for almost a month each.It appears that the division will be handled by the Cardinals as I told another online friend who is a Cubs fan earlier this year.

 

Don't worry,as long as he heals and Baker doesn't overuse Wood and Prior the Cubs will be a force next year for sure.

What do you think of Sosa not making the allstar team? I have mixed emotions

 

With it being in chicago it would have been nice for him to go but with his injury/bat situation he kinda idnt deserve it (others are having better yrs)

I hear you on the "next year" stuff.We've been saying that in Houston for the past 5 or 6 years and it appears that our window of opprotunity is closing if it hasn't already.

 

In regards to Sammy not making the team,there were others who were more deserving but I do believe the cork controversy had something to do with it.I know that I lost some respect for him even though he is only one of probably 50 that has done it this year.He just happened to get caught.I appreciate his competetive desire but they have rules you have to play by and he broke them.It would have been no different if a NASCAR driver was using an illegal car or something along those lines.

 

Oh well,I'll be happy again this year overall as long as the freaking Yankees don't win.
