austin3565 Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Hello, Im new here and also relatively new to trucks. I purchased my first truck about 10 months ago knowing I would lift it and put wheels and tires on it. I have decided on going with a 6" BDS kit, with 35s. After contacting BDS about their recommended wheel and tire sizes for my truck with previously stated setup they recommended (35" x 12.50" w/20 x 9 and 5.75" of back spacing) the wheels that I found and really like have 4.56" of back spacing. So my question is how big of a difference/effect is this? Thanks in advance for any comments and advice.
newdude Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 You will stick out an inch or so further. That spec they call for may be just a maximum limit (how close the wheel/tire can be without rubbing on any suspension components) and or the best compromise to keep stress down on the suspension. So with a 4.56" backspace you will have tire further from the suspension. Keep that in mind as you may encounter valance rub as a result. Offset for their recommendation is +18mm, the wheels you are looking at are probably -10 to -12 offset.
