6.2 + 6.5 head gaskets

I recently helped a buddy rebuild his 95' GM 6.5L TD- 3500HD dumptruck... He got ARP head stud kit n got FLATOUT head gaskets from Summit Racing.. I've never heard of FLATOUT gaskets n NOBODY I've talked to has ever heard of it used em.... Well DON'T, they are junk!!! Pass side blew in 2 places n driver side blew between middle cylinders causing the motor to make a. Very Loud hideous knockin sound... I was unsure about the gaskets from the start, should have stuck with the traditional multilayer gaskets.. So it's back to square one AGAIN, this time hopefully with better gaskets...

stock bolts are stronger.

ARP is for nitromethane dragsters. :)

check for stripped nuts.

aftermarket gaskets.. it is usually their livelihood. They cannot get away with anything.

I'd go common, like felpro or any MLS.

given the years of the engine, not many parts people play junk stuff with the diesels. Any make or model..

I was just reading a years long agument on the ARP. I never got them for anything..
