All Terrain Package Cooled Seats. WHY NOT GM??????

KB6

Seating, heated and cooled

Not anymore.

The cooled portion was dropping for pickups for 2016 model year, and the option code has now been changed to reduce confusion.

From order guide:

2017

KQV Seating, heated and ventilated perforated leather-appointed front bucket

1 - Requires (AN3) front full-feature leather-appointed bucket seats and (H3A), (H3B) or (H3C) perforated leather-appointed seat trims.
2016

2015 can't find it online any more, but in 2015, KB6 was heated and cooled (at least mine were.. :driving: )

The vented seats suck. The tubing in the seats makes them much harder/firmer than just heated ones.

We get tons of complaints about how uncomfortable they are.

Ok I didn't realize these would be uncomfortable. My wife has a enclave and those seats are awesome with the vents in them. Of course thats comparing to totally unlike things, I know, but I have several friends with the new high country and denali and none of them have ever mentioned them not being comfortable. I will have to check with them and see what they say.

I think mine are great. I guess it's all just personal preference. I don't like my seats too squishy. Firmer seats should hold up longer than softer ones

I thought so too. I like more side bolstering than anything. I like to stay put in them instead of sliding side to side. Friend of mine put PRP Racing seats in his half ton. pretty comfortable too.

That's a whole other animal. American seats tend to be flatter and wider due to the general public in this country. I'm coming from the tuner/sports car clique, and everyone would always bitch about how the American seats were so much worse than the ones sold in the same cars over seas. Some of the manufacturers have become better at fabricating decent bucket seats, but here in America, if someone can't fit into a seat, they're most likely not buying the car.

When it comes to trucks... LOL. Manufacturers are definitely not going to be narrowing the seats and making them deeper.

what exactly does "vented" mean? and how is it different from "cooled"??...so the bottom line is the seats aren't actually cooled anymore with A/C air it is just air blown at whatever temp?

The vented seats are just a fan sucking air in through the perforations in the seating surface and blowing it out the back. The actual cooled seats utilize a Peltier device to create an active cooling effect akin to small-scale A/C.

and vented seats are the only ones offered now, correct? even on a denali build online it only says vented..slt option it says vented, i cannot seam to find the cooled seats

The air coming out of my seats is pretty cold

I've found the air movement is much higher on the 16 vented vs the 15 cooled.

Overall effect is better 'cooling' on the vented.

If the choice is between the 2, I'd take the 16 vented.
