LED reverse lights and license plate lights- service backup system?

Today I bought some leds for the mentioned above. Neither worked. And now my reverse lights don't work and my backup camera says "service rear camera system" or something along those lines. All I did was unplug and plug... I did have the pliers fall down between the tailgate and had to pull them out. But I'm pretty sure it didn't unplug any of those plugs. And they all feel solid....

You failed to tell us what truck you were working on. You failed to tell us what lights you installed that did not work. Were you just venting or do you need help?

Did you try flipping them around? I know when I installed mine I wasn't aware there was a positive and negative side on the license plate lights. Flipped them around and came on.

2015 Chevy Silverado. I'm not exactly sure what brand the reverse lights are. I bought them at the local speed shop that sells all sorts of car parts. The plate lights are Winn brand.

I did yes. I'm more concerned about the service message at this point haha

Hmm might want to double check all the connections where the pliers fell. I'm running LEDs in both of those spots as well and everything works as it should.

Figured out it was a blown fuse. But I'm confused to why it blew and why the leds didn't work?

Have a 2014 Z71 and just installed LED Reverse Lights, Big Improvement.. Only problem was one side the buld worked it's way loose, guess it wasn't seated deep enough.. Would like to do the 3rd Brake light next..

Any idea why it blew my fuse when I installed mine? Would it be because I need to switch polarity.

I had my '15 blow the fuse for the reverse camera by just looking at it wrong. Not sure what the issue was but it happened 3 times. Unacceptable.
