how did you know to replace it? Light hasn't come back on. I did check the plug wires. Some seemed a bit loose.

I pulled the plug and it looked good, than changed the plug wires to aftermarket with 1/4 of the ohm resistance of stock and it still would pop up going up hills, so I found a new coil off of gmpartsdirect.com for $30 if I remember correctly and the problem has never came up again been 10k miles. I made a post about it on here

Search, Cylinder 5 misfire help might help

Scan tool the code should be stored , if I were you I'd pull that plug, that would narrow it down quickly and eliminate some stuff

No codes stored on mine. But I will pull the plug. What should it look like? I have about 30k miles.

So I just had the same thing happen to my truck 2014 Silverado crew cab, 74000 miles check engine light flashing but goes away did it several time today first time. I recently had a tune done on the truck and turn off the afm and changed the cam n lifter to regular lifters. The check engine doesn’t stay lit

Feel lose of power when going up a incline even on freeway... any help would b appreciated

Flashing CEL is not a good thing.

I would have it checked for stored codes and see what is up.

If the light is flashing : A

malfunction has been detected that

could damage the emission control

system and increase vehicle

emissions. Diagnosis and service

may be required.

To help prevent damage, reduce

vehicle speed and avoid hard

accelerations and uphill grades.

they said they couldn’t check it if the check engine light was on

Go to an O'Rielys, Auto Zone, any parts store, they will scan it for free.

Codes are stored, they just have to retrieve them.

There are numerous scan tools for around $100.00 that you can buy and do it yourself. I just bought A Blue Driver OBD2 scan tool off of Amazon for $100.00 and change.

Yes sir, as long as you have an active (the correct one) subscription, they will have full access to your truck.

Were they able to help?
