Wheel back spacing

What is a good wheel backspacing for a 2500 with leveling keys. I have never bought custom wheels and am lost on this. I would like to run a wider and taller combo. Picks of your truck with wheels would awesome. Thanks in advance!

My Stock 17's are +44. I think the best looking offset on our generation of trucks is +20 to +18...this puts the wheel/tire flush with the fender wells. 0 offset and negative offset create a lot of tire fitment issues even with lift kits.

It really depends on how you want your truck to look. If you go with a 9" wide wheel (which is very popular in the aftermarket world), here's a rough guide:

+25 to +35 offset will keep the rim tucked inside the fenders, similar to stock. Wide tires might rub the frame or UCA.

+10 to +20 offset will put the rims about flush with the edge of the fender. Best option for clearance of larger tires.

+5 to -5 offset will stick the rims just outside the fenders, but not much. Still clears larger tires fairly easily.

-10 to -24 offset will stick the rims & tires outside the fenders a couple inches. Larger tires may rub the fender liners or mud flaps.

-25 to -44 offset.....good luck, haha.
