Harbor Freight 20T Shop Press Question

Can I ask a favour of someone?

I have a coupon for the 20T Shop Press and plan on purchasing 1 next month in NH (save on the sales tax), but unsure of the packaging size. This will play into which vehicle we take (Pontiac Montana or my pick up).

If you're in a store, could you see if there is a boxed press ITEM 32879/60603 & measure it? It would be greatly appreciated.

The vertical frame looks like its welded, so a box would need to be at least 61" x 28" to hold it.

 

You could always call the store and have someone measure it too.

Most of it looks bolted together, The length isn't a big deal, it's more the 'thickness' of the box. May just have to take both rows of seats out of the back to fit it flat on the floor. A box 28" wide would be too wide to fit between the interior side & 1 seat removed.

yeah, I guess if all the steel frame are disassembled, you are just left with a 5' long box.

 

you could lay the box on its edge too, or take the parts out and throw them in on your floor. I've never seen inside a montana, but I think I could fit it inside most minivans with a little creativity.

I own one, it came in two boxes: one was probably 36 inches wide, 5 feet long, and 6 inches thick (the main I-beam uprights are welded together) and another probably 24 inches, by 18 inches, by 6 inches thick ( the jack, press plates, and hardware).

I have 2 and they fit in any truck or suv even some cars. It bolts together and look around you can get it for under 150.

We removed a seat out of the Montana & there wasn't an issue loading the 3 boxes. Had to deal w/ the luggage that we had as well for the trip.
