Going from 20" to 18" wheels... should I care?

I have these 20" wheels: https://is.gd/yu5HL7. Too much chrome.

I like these wheels: https://is.gd/QvZB06. The only problem is that these are 18", so I'd be going down from 20".

Should I care? A friend says I should stick with a 20" wheel to fill the wheel well, but I'll still be getting 285 or comparable tires. But, on the other hand, it does feel a little weird to be going from 20" to 18" which would normally be thought of as a downgrade.

What do y'all think?

Do whatever you think rides/looks best. That's a decision for you to make, not us. Lol.

You can put more meat on the 18 to fill out the well also.

I think you should buy my factory 18" midnight edition wheels with duratrac tires so that I can afford to go up to 20's [emoji6]

But really.... I think "going down" to 18's is fine. I'd even argue it's not a downgrade at all. But I'm also on the smaller diameter wheel with meaty tire side of the 18 vs 20 argument. Only reason I'm going to 20's is to be able to clear an aftermarket knuckle

There will be a difference in the two setups assuming tire outside diameter remains constant. The smaller wheels create a taller sidewall. A taller sidewall, generally, has less tread stability and steering response. It will be noticeable since its 2" in diameter. In other words, it will not handle as well.

On the other hand, it will ride smoother.

Trucks with 20's do look sharp, trucks with 17's or 18's look like they're ready to work (just my opinion). I have 18's and like the softer ride and prefer the look.
